Upcoming iPhone Car Key feature described in iOS 13.6 privacy screens


We have been reporting on Apple’s upcoming ‘CarKey’ feature for a short time now, and therefore the latest iOS 13.6 beta gives us our greatest confirmation yet that the feature is imminent. As detailed by Apple, the Wallet app will soon allow you to add virtual car keys compatible with ‘certain vehicles’.

This will pair the car key authentication token together with your phone. Apple will use your location and knowledge about your account to detect possible fraud.

Car keys are often shared with relations by using the Invite button on the rear of the car key pass. you'll then share the car key through iMessage to other iPhone users.

Apple’s privacy information explains that it'll not retain information about how you employ your car, like once you lock or unlock the vehicle. However, the car maker may collect this type of data and Apple directs users to ask the privacy policy of their automaker.
